In a testament to the community’s love for exceptional dining experiences, the first-ever Bampton Restaurant Festival, taking place on Friday 6th December and curated by MasterChef judge and Telegraph food critic William Sitwell, has sold out in just two hours after tickets went on sale. But for those who missed out, there’s good news: the festival will be back for a second edition in March 2025.
The Bampton Restaurant Festival, also known as “Rest Fest,” invites food lovers on a culinary adventure through Bampton, showcasing the diverse dishes and talented chefs at local restaurants. Attendees will enjoy a “food safari” with unique dishes and a chance to meet some of the area’s best chefs whilst visiting six amazing venues in the town.
“It’s wonderful that we sold out so quickly—literally in a matter of hours,” says Sitwell. “It shows how eager locals are to support these fantastic businesses. While it might be disappointing for people who couldn’t get tickets, don’t worry—we’re already planning another for spring 2025!”
The festival has gained strong support from the Bampton community and local council, who are excited to highlight the town’s lively food culture.
Councillor Lucy Bull of Bampton Town Council said
“We’re thrilled to be part of Bampton’s first Rest Fest by William Sitwell. It’s a fantastic way to celebrate the wonderful culinary talent we have in town. Food lovers from near and far have a treat to look forward to, and we know they will enjoy this food safari. Bampton is rightly proud of its excellent hospitality, and it’s great to showcase it in this way.”
The huge demand highlights Bampton’s growing reputation as a food destination, and with its return in 2025, the festival is set to become an annual favourite. Food enthusiasts are encouraged to stay tuned for updates on next year’s edition and to grab their tickets early.
