On Saturday (25 March) thousands of people flocked to the launch of a new independent market at the prestigious Haynes Motor Museum at Sparkford near Yeovil.
The new monthly Market is the brainchild of Taunton businesswoman Michelle Beck who started the popular Taunton Independent Market in 2019, and the Bridgwater Independent Market in 2022. Michelle owns Taunton based events company By Invitation Events and specialises in organising high-quality events across the South West.
Michelle said:
“As a proud Somerset girl, I am hugely excited to bring another new regular destination Market to the people of Somerset. The market takes place on the last Saturday of the month and celebrates our wonderful businesses across the South West. I am lucky to have received tremendous support from all the wonderful local traders and organisations I work with and this is now our third Somerset Market. The Paddock at Haynes is a wonderful all-weather location, with plenty of free parking, level access and very importantly, is dog friendly.”
The new Market at Haynes is a new, quality destination market, the first in the area, and it will showcase the South West’s best food and drink, crafts, gifts, homewares, beauty, and fashion. With many small businesses continuing to face difficult times with the current cost of living crisis, the new Market at Haynes is a place that people will go to, to support local businesses and to help to put Somerset firmly on the map as a quality South West shopping and social destination”.
Visitors are encouraged to combine a trip to the new market with a visit to the prestigious Haynes Motor Museum which houses the UK's largest exhibition of the greatest cars from around the world. Established in 1985 by John Harold Haynes OBE (1938–2019) the museum is divided into fourteen exhibitions. Haynes also founded the Haynes Publishing Group, which is best-known for the Haynes Manuals that cover the maintenance and repair of cars and motorcycles. Haynes Motor Museum is open daily, all year round.
The Market at Haynes will take place on the last Saturday of the month, from 10.30am – 3.30pm.
