Role: Strategic Communications | Policy Narratives | Media Relations | Stakeholder Engagement | Campaign Planning
As Senior Communications Advisor to Adam Dance MP, responsibility was given for leading the national communications strategy for his high-profile campaign to improve support for children and young people with dyslexia and wider neurodivergent needs. This work brings together policy, lived experience and creative storytelling to build a strong, credible and human-centred case for SEND reform.

What was delivered
Clear national narrative on SEND reform
A strategic communications approach was developed to shape a consistent, accessible narrative across Parliament, the media and the constituency. Messaging focuses on early identification, better teacher training, fair funding and a more coherent system for families.
Human, experience-led storytelling
All communications were grounded in real experiences, using both Adam Dance MP’s own neurodivergent journey and stories from families in Somerset to build empathy, trust and national relevance.
High-impact parliamentary and media moments
Key moments were planned and delivered across the campaign, including debates, ministerial questions, national press stories and broadcast media opportunities. This ensured sustained visibility and momentum around SEND issues.
Multi-platform content delivery
Accessible content was produced for national media, social platforms and constituency audiences to ensure the campaign reached a wide, diverse and engaged audience.
Major stakeholder engagement
The project included coordinating national roundtables with leading organisations, strengthening partnerships with bodies such as the British Dyslexia Association, Dyscalculia Network and Ambitious about Autism.
Collaboration with public figures
Working with high-profile supporters including Jamie Oliver and Anna Maxwell Martin helped amplify the campaign’s reach and draw attention to the lived realities facing neurodivergent children and their families.
Testimonial
“Livvi’s understanding of both politics and people shines through in everything she does. Her photography captures the human side of public life, and her communications advice has helped me connect with constituents in a more authentic and confident way.” - Adam Dance MP
Impact
This work has contributed to making the campaign one of the most visible pieces of SEND advocacy in Parliament, generating coverage across ITV, The Independent, national radio and sector press. The campaign has secured strong national partnerships, garnered cross-party interest and elevated the conversation around dyslexia and neurodiversity in education.
