Daffodil PR & Communications Ltd served as the official social media partner for Minehead BID/Visit Minehead, supporting the destination’s ongoing efforts to increase footfall, strengthen its profile, and promote the town as both a vibrant shopping hub and an appealing visitor destination.

What we delivered
Strategic social media management
We managed Minehead BID’s social media channels, creating tailored content, engaging local audiences, and promoting the town’s attractions and independent businesses. Throughout the partnership, follower numbers increased by an average of 20% every two months, reflecting strengthened engagement and growing interest in the area.
Town-wide Out of Home advertising campaign
As part of the wider marketing strategy, we designed a suite of OOH adverts installed throughout the town centre and seafront. These were created to drive visitors into the shopping areas, increase footfall, and support spending across BID-member businesses.
Regional and national media coverage
We secured positive press for Minehead, including a feature in The Telegraph, helping to reposition the town as a welcoming seaside destination and elevating its profile with both tourists and local audiences.
New destination website
To support long-term marketing efforts, we designed and built a dedicated website showcasing independent businesses, key attractions, events, and things to do — providing Minehead with a central platform to promote the town and its offer.
Business training and capacity building
We delivered a practical workshop for BID businesses focused on maximising social media engagement. Training covered:

Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and demand was so high that we were invited back to deliver an additional session for businesses who missed the first.

The combined social, digital and OOH activity contributed to increased confidence, stronger community promotion, and a more unified destination identity.
